Traditionally, my bride has always done the baked ham using various
condiments such as whole cloves, cherries, pineapple slices, etc., but this
year decided to do a baked ham myself. I had not planned to do a photo
sequence recipe shoot for my website and this was more or less impromptu.
I got in a
"Jack The Ripper" mode with the small
paring knife that is razor sharp and scored aka
"slashed" the ham much deeper than 1/4 inch and my bad on
that.....grin if you must! The baked ham was moist, juicy and
succulent with a wonderful sweetness from the honey brown sugar glaze that
permeated into the meat and also left a good char or bark on the exterior of
the ham. Also, the usage of
Wild Bill's Meat Rub added additional
complex flavors.
