Above batter dipped and fried onion rings were done on 03-11-13.
Used a heavy bottomed stainless steel Townecraft pot filled about 1/4 full
with Crisco Vegetable Oil and kept a dial thermometer inserted to keep
check on the oil temperature. The onion rings were outstanding; moist
inside, excellent crunch, perfect combination of sweetness with the other
spices, whereas the onion ring was fully done and did not pull loose from
the batter while you were biting into them as some restaurant onions
rings will do. The pancake batter certainly did rise, fluff out and
expand on the onion rings as evidenced by the pixs.
Sometimes you get lucky with a first experiment and this was certainly
the case. Will post sequence pixs at a later date.
