CHRISTMAS 2023With my
bride's continued health
issues this Christmas season, I only put up our Christmas tree in the
living room that consists of three sections with small multicolored lights
pre-installed. We had our youngest Grandson,
Xander McKnight
Gonzales and his sister
Miss Lily
decorated the tree under my bride's supervision, grin if you must!
I brought up from the basement a couple large totes
and smaller boxes with Christmas decor for the upstairs, and my bride decorated
the living room mantel and living room with my help. In the past, we decorated most
of the upstairs plus the
yards and had Christmas Street
Block
Parties.
We elected to do a Christmas dinner (party) on Christmas Eve around
2ish instead of a finger food party at evening aka Supper; yes, I am old
school; e.g., Breakfast, Dinner and Supper!
JESUS IS THE REASON FOR EVERY SEASON
With all the commercialization of our CHRISTMAS Holiday and so many
attempting to get on the Political Correctness Band Wagon of not
wishing to offend anyone and to me, they have no backbone and don't stand for
anything that really matters and mere puppets; "Pull my little strings and
I'll do anything." Without Jesus Christ our Lord and
Savior, there would be no Christmas since
Jesus is
the Reason for the Season and every season! Whatever your personal
Faith and Religion are, it is your choice and right; I choose to be a
Christian!

CHRISTMAS DECOR
From the above pixs, it is easy to ascertain that my bride aka Joyce
loves snowmen. Most of the inside décor is decades old.
Before my bride had her stroke in 2006, we decorated the entire home
inside and outside as well. My bride was the motivation for
decorating for all the major holidays and much of it is documented
throughout my
short story page. We gave away
trucks loads of outside décor including lights, lighted trees and
various wood projects that my bride and myself made over the years.
She did the artistic stuff, painting, etc. and I did the brawny stuff,
grin if you must!
CHRISTMAS EVE FINGER FOOD PARTY - LUNCH
Attending were: Joyce Porter aka my bride, Bill Porter, Laura
Porter, Travis and Trevor Huneycutt, Shane Hough, Lisa, Xander and Lily
Gonzales.
Our menu consisted of a meat tray consisting of sliced turkey, ham
and beef, four types of sliced bread, two types of cheeses, sliced
tomatoes, lettuce, sausage balls, hot sausage dip, scoops, potato chips,
vegetable tray, party mix, two types one being Vegan, cranberry chutney,
condiments such as Dijon mustard, regular yellow mustard, Duke's
mayonnaise, Wasabi sauce, fresh fruit salad and two types of pickles and
soft drinks, coffee, three Vegan dishes, rice and broccoli and Mushroom
stew. I failed to take a pix of the Mushroom stew and it was
delicious. Our Vegan grandson Travis Huneycutt said the Mushroom
stew was the best he had ever had!
Before our meal, I said a prayer to God through Jesus Christ our Lord
and Savior and thanked him for another Christmas eve, our many blessings
and to bless the food to the nourishment of our bodies.

OPENING GIFTS
The best part of Christmas other than celebrating Christ's birth is
watching the younger kids opening presents on Christmas Eve and at
Christmas. Below a few pixs taken:
Before the gift presents opened.
Miss Lily grinning without a couple front teeth and some of her
presents.
Xander with gifts, I told him I about run out of camera to get him in
the picture.
Lisa opening gifts.
Miss Lily showing out her party dress. She did a few ballet
moves for us.
Miss Lily with another gift, maybe a Barbee doll.
THE NEVER ENDING CLEAN UP
I decided to bring out
some crystal stuff which has been collecting
dust for years. It is like having good Chinaware and never using
it. About the only crystal dishes used in the past was
mostly for potato salad at Church events and around our home.
In closing, we had a wonderful Christmas Eve finger food party
and as I say at every chance, "Two of the Greatest Ships that ever sailed,
Friendship and Fellowship" and family and friends make life
worthwhile keeping God foremost in our lives.
I give God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, the Praise, Honor
and Glory in all things!
