CONNIE'S YARD SALE 08-08-2026
Our neighbors Connie and Steve Marsh live up the road from us and our
property borders one another. Steve and Connie are the kind of
neighbors one hopes for in a lifetime and we definitely hit the jackpot
when they purchased the home up the road from us. Since we purchased our
home here on Burlington St., Wadesboro, NC in the year 1989, their
current home place was sold three times prior to Connie and Steve's
purchase and they definitely are a blessing to the Porter family.
Praise God for His many blessings!
Connie has been doing yard sales here since 2021 and I have made
it to several of them. I always come back with things I just had to
have; grin if you must!
Today was no different finding a couple pots and pans to add to our
collection which gets used daily and a couple coffee mugs and digital
thermometer.
I got an early start not too long after 7:30 AM and not the best
photographic conditions with little or no sun and mixed sunlight at the
best, but I went with what I took to add to this page. I am still
using an antiquated Canon 30D 35MM DSLR camera and very
pleased with it and also using Adobe Photoshop CS2 to edit my
pictures.
Enough of the chit chat on the keyboard and will get right to posting
pictures taken early this morning.

As evidenced by the pixs taken, there were plenty of merchandise to
choose from. Connie was moving around like a honey bee tending to
her bee hive and didn't get a good pixs of her, therefore went back as
the yard sale was being packed up and got a good pix of Connie:

Connie doing a little modeling/styling for the camera!
Grin if you must!

Connie's side kick Lorie Ross which has merchandise for sale too,
stayed still long enough for a picture to be taken:

Connie and her friend Deborah who attends her yard sales regularly!

Above pix of Steve Marsh cutting some grass after the yard sale with
a good grin going too!

My friend Janet White who didn't want her pix taken, but somehow the
camera caught her off guard. Janet and myself worked for the North
Carolina Telephone Company back in the late 1960s and she later went to
work with the Lanesboro Correctional Institution, retiring from there.
I am not sure, but she might have retired also from the telephone
company which changed ownership several times over the decades prior to
her Lanesboro Correctional Institution employment.
In closing, Connie had a good yard sale and there is definitely a tremendous
amount of work bringing out merchandise and then taking it back to
storage.
Connie gave my bride aka
Joyce a laundry basket size full of
gowns her size and would not take any money for them! There were
at least twenty (20) gowns and I believe 17 still had the sales tags on
them,

I listened to Connie and with her saleswomanship, she could sell an
Eskimo a deep freezer, another grin is in
order! I overheard her
tell one potential buyer asking about the price of something and her
response was, "this ain't no museum, its got
to go."
