EARLY THANKSGIVING 2025
Our son, Bill, Jr. visited with us from 11-17-2025 until 11-24-2025 and we had
an early Thanksgiving. My bride aka Joyce was in the Atrium Hospital
Monroe, NC during his visit, whereas he visited with her about every day, as I
did.
We had more or less a Reader's Digest version of our regular Thanksgiving dinner
and there was still plenty of food. I made potato salad and deviled eggs
on Friday November 21st and deep fried a 22 pound turkey on the 22nd along with
baking our traditional cornbread dressing. I also did a giblet gravy.
Lisa our youngest daughter made a sweet potato soufflé and Laura our
oldest daughter did a green been casserole. Travis Lee Huneycutt is a
Vegan and Lisa made him a Vegan apple pie. Laura also made a Vegan pasta
salad. I baked a Mrs. Smith apple pie for dessert and we had regular
dinner rolls, of which I believe I was the only one that had one, grin if you
must! I also make cranberry chutney a few days earlier.
Those attending were Bill aka Mickey Porter, yours truly, Lisa, Xander and Lily
Gonzales, Laura Porter, Travis and Trevor Huneycutt and a special guest and
friend Linda
Driggers from Cheraw, SC. Linda wanted to bring a pie and promised she
would not bake it. There is a story behind that since when she was baking
things to start, it was something else to partake of, but has since come a long
way with her baking skills!

FOOD PIXS TAKEN

A "beautimous" deep fried 22 pound
Butterball turkey.

Deep fried turkey and apple pie, deviled eggs and potato salad in the back
ground.

Giblet gravy.

Corn from the can, grin if you must!

My plate and going to put the camera down for some serious "groceries". I
didn't take a pix of the cornbread dressing, but you can see it covered and
smothered with the giblet gravy in the above pix.
I also forgot to take a pix of our oldest daughter Laura Porter and will archive
a pix from the past and insert it.
In closing, everyone had a great time, enjoyed the food and as I like to
say at every opportunity,
"Two of the Greatest Ships that ever Sailed, Friendship and Fellowship" and
family and friends make life worthwhile.
