After the removal of Paula Deen from the
Food Network Channel, for admitting she used the N word decades earlier
and a racial discrimination and sexual harassment
law suit filed by a former employee which was
dismissed, I have limited my viewing of the Food Network
programming drastically as if it makes any difference to the network, but I
certainly do feel better myself for doing so.
Being raised in the South and living in a mixed racial poor community, where
people of
color were called Colored, then Negroes, then Blacks and finally
African
Americans. I have first hand knowledge of the poverty and hardships
experienced by both races which was not a pretty sight. I remember vividly if you called a Colored
person Black in the middle to late 1950s, you had better get ready to do some
fighting, either verbally or physically. The word Black was taboo in
our community and people of color wanted to be referred to as Colored until
the middle 1960s when I enlisted in the US Navy for better educational opportunities.
I believe the usage of the word Black to refer to people of color was
progressed by Ebony Magazine portraying Black as Beautiful.
The 1950s and 1960s "for the most part" was a time when you could leave your windows up (before air conditioning was
common place)
and doors kept unlocked, the keys in the ignition of your vehicles without
fear of someone stealing your vehicle or taking your property. Home
invasions were practically unheard of or any drive by shootings. That
was also before the increased usage of recreational drugs; Marijuana, LSD, Meth.
Heroin, and Cocaine which is currently destroying America.
Shacking up
before marriage was not the norm either. Television programming didn't promote promiscuous and blatant sinful
lifestyles (homosexuals) trying to pass it off as normal of which has done tremendous and
irreversible damage to America's morality in broadcasting those lifestyles.
I am speaking from personal observations and not second hand information and
didn't live in a gated community with guards on duty or have a
silver spoon
in my mouth either, however I never went hungry! Most everyone in our community was in the
same boat financially so to speak with a few having more than others.
Which side of the fence or track you were own can certainly bias and prejudice
your personal views which can lead to psychological
bias of
which I am not immune to either and make no excuses.
I would not want to try and count the number of times that I have been called
Cracker, "Whitey", "Honky", and many other
names not
conducive to
print and I certainly don't think it left a negative impression that
destroyed any of my own personal self esteem or anything else. I was
able to get beyond that and not use it as a mental crutch as many tend to do
so today........and YES, I have
used the N word many, many times growing up in heated verbal exchanges with young
boys of color about my own age and it was common place for Blacks to routinely
call one another the N word as well.
Pastor Manning is
still using the N word as freely as ever as evidenced by the number of
YouTube videos he has posted. NOTE: I just checked that
link out where he called
Obama the N word, so guess the PC crowd got the
video banned, however, I saved the video clip as a .wav file and hyperlinked
in this sentence. First Amendment Rights apparently don't apply to
everyone, especially if you are not a Liberal. However, it certainly isn't politically correct but
not viewed as racism or derogatory with his usage or other blacks using the N word, of
which there is a double standard employed;
Ok for One
Ethnic Group and Racist
for the Other, whereas racism is a learned and/or taught
behavior. Since I am on a roll now, let me
continue to vent!
Segregation was definitely wrong and I do remember the school system, restaurants and other places which segregated people by the color of their
skin and glad that laws were enacted to prevent such discrimination.
No one needs to be treated as a second class citizen and segregation
certainly accomplished that element of injustice. Upon entering the military in 1964, young men of all races were treated the
same especially during our boot camp training and advancement was not based
on race but by performance. However, later
Affirmative Action laws which have
been referred to as Positive Discrimination has changed the educational
system, job force both civilian and military and any work place that Big
Brother both Federal and State has jurisdiction over in order to level the "playing field",
of which time
is beginning to manifest the results. It appears that there is a
widening gap in our educational system and Administrators and Politicians
are still trying to figure it out. I know I am rambling on the keyboard
but I get that way many times.
As an AMERICAN CITIZEN, I have the right to vote and freely exercise my
freedom of speech both written and verbally until it is totally eroded and
corrupted by the left wing liberals who want to suppress anything that
doesn't conform to their twisted, warped and convoluted agenda. Read my short story titled
America's Moral Decay and
Quote of the Decade. Therefore, I
also have the free
will to boycott things that I don't like and personally
didn't like the quick judgment that the Food Network Channel
rendered to Paula Deen
without fully knowing all the facts and is the main reason I try and turn a
deaf
ear to the Food Network Television Programming.
With the recent removal and/or indefinite suspension of
Phil Robertson from
Duck Dynasty, I have added
A & E to my list of
boycotted TV Networks along with many other things. I strongly support Phil
Robertson's courageous stand upholding his personal and Biblical comments,
beliefs and conviction concerning homosexuality of which The King James Bible that I
read equates
homosexuality as a sin! Below is just one scripture
describing homosexual men by the
Apostle Paul which clearly states what he witnessed and the consequences
of their sexual immorality:
Romans 1:27 KJV "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of
the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working
that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their
error which was meet." Read the entire book of Romans for a better
perspective. My personal and Biblical view, "Mankind's sick and perverted laws are a futile attempt to
justify and rationalize such immoral behavior and lifestyles ultimately
leading to spiritual damnation."
If you
choose to
participate in homosexual activities and lifestyles as such, it is your right under some of the
loose interpretation of existing laws and the high courts recent liberal rulings
allowing such
activities, however
you will not escape God's final judgment, Romans 6:23 KJV
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord." God himself will be the ultimate judge at
the Great White Throne Revelation 20:11-15 KJV and it
certainly is not anyone else's place to cast judgment on anyone and quoting
Bible scripture to manifest immoral behavior and actions
is not casting judgment; Matthew
7:1-3 KJV , however as a Christian, there are many
duties
and obligations to fulfill and placing a
muzzle on a Christian to
prevent free speech is not one of them.
It is time that
ALL
Christians
stand up and take a firm stand against the immorality that is in the
World
instead of sitting back being complacent doing nothing while the unrighteous "has more mouth than a fat hog's got butt"
with the full
support of the Politically Correct (PC)
crowd and liberal news media in an effort to bolster their own ratings and profit
margins! Look what happened to prayer in our schools and the ensuing
moral decay
that America is in today.
I still have plenty of TV networks and multitudes of liberal
news media channels available to watch and it only takes a push of the remote control button to
silence them when I so desire of which I do that often enough!
John 3:16 KJV "For God so loved the
world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Phil Robertson was reinstated by
A & E
Networks, parent company of A & E on 12-27-13 apparently due to the
tremendous support of their fans and even some of their critics. Lets
face the real issue; A & E caved in
because of the potential loss of revenue
(estimated 400 Million last year) from their
"golden goose" Duck Dynasty and not some
Politically Correct issue as they want to portray.
A & E should have known exactly what they were getting when they hired the
cast of Duck Dynasty especially Phil Robertson of which I strongly support
his Christian values and views. A & E has the backbone of a jellyfish.
