HALLOWEEN 2002 PARTY PIXSBelow pixs
taken on Halloween October 31, 2002 being on a Thursday. My bride is
the driving force for the majority of the outside yard decor and inside for
the holidays, whereas I do the brawn stuff and she does the artistic and
intellectual stuff. The pixs taken were archived from a back-up CD and
finally got around to web publishing them. Back in 2002, I had a
webpage called Porter Family Pictures
that our son Bill Jr., had sub folder for the pictures on his website
www.mountainbikebill.com.
Sometime around 2007 or so with the help of Bill, we got my own website
www.portercalls.com up and running when I started making custom
turkey box calls.
We continued the outside decorations and parties until 2006 when my bride
aka Joyce had a massive brainstem stroke and she has made an excellent
recovery considering that type of stroke normally leaves a person dead
and/or in a vegetative state. With our Lords help, she has come a long
way. I still put up our
Christmas yard decor and since 2006 have
cut back about 1/3 or more on the amount of decorations, lights, blow-up
figures, etc. but we still have it looking very nice and festive!
Whew, that was a long introduction and I sometimes get a little side
tracked but that is just my MOO, manner of operation and must be a DNA flaw
because it happens to regularly.....grin if you must!
PARTY TABLE IMAGES
Laura Huneycutt with a good grin going and my bride aka Joyce in the back
ground to her left. My bride usually made a large pot of her
beautimous tasting
Chili n Beans and there were plenty of hot dogs available
for an old fashioned wiener roast.
The Jerry Cassidy girls, Pop and Rachel Myers getting those dogs ready.
Clara Lowry, my bride and Travis Lee and Marshalene, one of Clara's care
givers on the left but will have my bride review the pix.
Jason Hildreth, our next door neighbor's Grandson.
Wink Myers and my Mom Ann Porter. Looks like Mom is enjoying some
of that Chili n Beans too.

PIX AROUND THE FIRE
The lower driveway was an ideal spot to put an old fashioned type fire
pit, but used a large green sweet gum tree that I cut down as a border to
contain the fire. That sweet gum tree border lasted a couple or more
seasons for different wiener roasts. Looks like there is a good supply
of wood in the background too!
Laura Huneycutt and Mom getting those wieners roasted. We used
regular coat hangers but the next few years, we used some "store bought"
wiener hooks made special for roasting wieners, etc. and they had a few
prongs on the end for multiple wieners. Those store bought ones did
not flex and bend like the coat hanger wire ones.
One of the things we learned while
camping on Blewett Falls Lake, Pee Dee
River, that burning cedar wood gives off some wonderful looking sparks and
embers.
Megan Cassidy enjoying the warmth from the fire...Those burning embers
headed toward the sky leaving a miniature comet trail.
Trevor Lane Huneycutt. Small kids and children are drawn to a fire
like a nail to a magnet and you have to be on your toes to keep them safe.

HALLOWEEN YARD DECOR
The next few years that we hosted the Halloween party, the yard decor and
decorations really got creative and expanded in size. View the
Halloween 2004
and Halloween 2005
short stories for comparison. Later, we had an old fashion apple
dunking contest and a pumpkin carving contest and plenty of scary Halloween
music.

Those pixs were taken nearly fourteen (14) years ago. Since those
pixs were taken, the following have passed away; Ann Porter, Bill Porter,
Clara Lowery, Lupe Kelly and her friend.
Time waits for for no one and I am thankful for each and
every day that our Lord Jesus Christ allows. Below, a few Bible verses
from The King James Version Bible relating to time:
Web published by Bill aka Mickey Porter on 10-11-16.
LEAVING ON A
SPIRITUAL NOTE
If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please take
this moment to accept him by Faith into your Life, whereby Salvation
will be attained.
Ephesians 2:8 - 2:9 8 For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: 9 Not of
works, lest any man should boast.
Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.”
Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by
the word of God.”

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and
sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder
of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of
the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of
God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory
of God;”
Micah 6:8 “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what
doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and
to walk humbly with thy God?”
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth me."
ECCLESIASTES 3: 1 - 8
1 To every [thing there is] a season, and a time to every purpose under
the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck
up [that which is] planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to
build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time
to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast
away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to
speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

ever Sailed, Friendship and Fellowship.
