Pat and Johnny Hildreth celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary today
at the Austin Auditorium, Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina.
Pat and Johnny Hildreth are our neighbors and friends since we purchased a
home near them in 1989. They are genuine and talented people, who
treat others like they would like to be treated themselves.Johnny has
worked in the plumbing, heating and air conditioning field for many decades having
retired from Wingate University about seven or eight years ago and has done
contract plumbing work for the general public while working his full time
"day job" and has kept our home plumbing and heating/cooling needs going as
well as countless others in this county and adjacent counties . He has
always been there when needed but due to serious health problems in the past
couple years has had to cut way back on his work that he loves so well and
his son Allen is helping to take up the slack.
I personally cannot say enough good things about Pat and Johnny Hildreth
and their devoted loving family and hope you enjoy the pictures taken this
afternoon. I have featured them and their
Christmas yard
decorations of which Pat enjoys so much as do the many, many folks riding by
to view their handy work!

Pat Hildreth stated she counted at least 80 that attended and I only got
a small portion of those that attended. It is hard to snap a pix with
a cup of coffee in one hand and refreshments in the other.
We had a wonderful time of honoring and celebrating Johnny's birthday and
Pat and Johnny's 50th wedding anniversary which isn't until the 21st of this
month and as always, Two of the greatest ships that ever sailed,
Friendship and Fellowship! May God's richest blessings and display
of love be manifested in the lives of each and everyone this Christmas
season whereas Christ is the reason for the season!
John 3:16 (King James Version) For God so loved
the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Additional notes and pixs added on May 25, 2009. Johnny Hildreth
passed away around 2:50 A.M. today 05-25-09 after a long battle with cancer.
He was a great friend and neighbor and will certainly be missed. Below
are a few pixs taken on October 14, 2000 of Johnny while working in his yard
burning trash and leaves and later that day coming down to do a plumbing
repair for me. My prayers go out to his family and friends in this difficult
time.
One of my all time favorite laughs with Johnny was when we were talking
about my Dobro guitar that I built and told him I hoped the glue would hold
and he "busted" out in one of his signature laughs from deep down within.
We both had a good "chuckle" for sure.
This is one of my favorite pixs of Johnny burning trash and leaves. It
always amazed me how he could stay so clean when doing yard, plumbing,
heating and air conditioning work.
Johnny has some tools ready to do a small plumbing repair job for me.
I always seem to tear up more plumbing fixtures and pipes than I repair and
leave such repairs to the experts!
Good bye my friend until we meet on the other side in the presence of God!
