MEN'S FELLOWSHIP MINISTRYThe
Wadesboro
Church of God men under the leadership of Pastor Sam Abee agreed that we
would form a Men's Fellowship Ministry and our inaugural meeting was scheduled for
August 19, 2017 at the Wadesboro Church of God fellowship hall.
The main goal of a men's fellowship ministry is to reveal Jesus Christ to
all men in order that God's Kingdom will be manifested tangibly in their
lives. The Men's Ministry seeks to sharpen and strengthen men through God's
Word, fellowship, encouragement and support. In all things, we give
God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, the Praise, Honor and Glory!
I am thankful for each and every day that our Lord Jesus Christ allows and
look forward to His
return.
We planned to serve breakfast at around 0800 hours with Bruce High, Joe
High and Bill Porter preparing the meal. Bill Porter agreed to spoil
the group by donating some good ole country cured ham and make some white
sausage gravy.
I arrived at the fellowship hall a little after 0700 hours and Bruce and
Joe were already getting things prepared and they certainly know their way around
preparing food for a crowd. We were expecting about 15 men to show up,
but 10 showed up and started filtering in before 0730.
Attending were: Pastor Sam Abee, Josiah Abee, Bruce High, Joe High,
Bill Porter, Wayne Kelly, Wink Myers, Rod Thomas, Joel Hornback and David
Shackleford.

MEN IN THE KITCHEN
BREAKFAST MENU
Our breakfast consisted of: Hot Sausage, Regular Sausage, Bacon,
Country Cured Ham, Scrambled Eggs, Egg and Cheese Omelet in
Ziplock Bag,
Hash Browns, White Sausage Gravy,
Mary B's Tea Biscuits,
Grits, Coffee and
Orange Juice.
FELLOWSHIP AROUND THE TABLE
Our Pastor Sam Abee, talked to us about the importance of a Men's
Fellowship Ministry, whereby we would meet out in the community every other
month at various places and venues, inviting friends with the hope of
leading someone to Christ. Brother Sam blessed our food with a prayer
to our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
It got extremely quiet once those
"beautimous" groceries came into contact with our taste
buds........grin if you must!
SOME PICKIN AND GRINNING
After that wonderful breakfast, Brother Sam Abee, Joe High and Bill
Porter broke out the string instruments and got some songs out of Brother
Abee and Joe. Bill Porter did some pickin on the ole
resophonic guitar
and played backup and took a lead break or two on a few songs, etc.
In closing, we had a great time together and one of my favorite sayings,
"Two of the Greatest Ships that ever Sailed,
Friendship and Fellowship."
