PASTOR APPRECIATION DAY 2019
The Wadesboro Church of God had our Pastor Appreciation Day on May 5,
2019 to give recognition to Pastor Sam Abee and his family. On the
agenda was a covered dish luncheon after our morning Worship Service.
This was a double celebration because today was Pastor Sam Abee's 50th
birthday as well! The person or persons that coined the phrase,
"Life begins at 40" had a great
sense of humor for sure.

GUEST SPEAKER PASTOR SHERMAN HAWKS
Our guest speaker Pastor Sherman Hawks from Greensboro, NC was introduced
by Pastor Sam Abee. Brother Sherman Hawks and Brother Sam Abee go back
to the 1980s when they both were attending East Coast Bible College in Charlotte,
NC
Below pix of Brother Hawks and his family before the introduction by
Brother Sam Abee:
Brother Sherman Hawks based his sermon from 1 Timothy Chapter 3, verses 1
through 7:
1 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he
desireth a good work.
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober,
of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient,
not a brawler, not covetous;
4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with
all gravity;
5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care
of the church of God?)
6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the
condemnation of the devil.
7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he
fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
Pastor Sherman Hawks preached an inspiring sermon and gave an open alter
call for anyone desiring to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
At the conclusion of Pastor Hawks sermon, a special prayer and anointing
of oil was administered on behalf of Sister Joanne Abee's Mother Nancy Burns
who has impending surgery.
A closing prayer and prayer for the food was given by Pastor Sam Abee and
we headed to the fellowship hall for lunch.

I finished my plate of fantastic food and was "tight as two
coats of paint."
BIRTHDAY BOY
Brother Sam Abee got a double celebration with today being his birthday
also.
In closing and speaking for myself, I had a wonderful time. I
enjoyed Pastor Sherman Hawk's inspirational message and the food and
fellowship was outstanding. My
bride aka Joyce was not able to attend due
to medical issues.
It is my normal MO (modus operandi)
to say at every opportunity, "Two of the
greatest Ships that ever Sailed, Friendship and Fellowship"
and we had prevailing sailing winds today and by the shed blood of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Calvary and his resurrection, will one day sail on
that eternal
River of Life!
The majority of my earthly life is now behind me, but I am thankful for each and every
day our Lord allows, his many blessings and looking forward to that heavenly home
prepared for those that have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!
John 3:16.
I love our Pastor and his family and look forward to many more Pastor
Appreciation Days, the Lord willing of course.
I give the Praise, Glory and Honor to God through Jesus Christ our Lord
and Savior in all things!
