RICE AND HAM DELIGHT
INGREDIENTS
1 cup or more cooked rice
6 oz. diced Spam or cooked ham of your choice
1 cup diced sweet onions (Vidalia when in season) - optional
4 tablespoons
butter
1 8 oz. package Bird's Eye Steamfresh mixed vegetables, your choice -
Microwave per manufacturer's instructions
1 10 oz. jar Heinz Home Style Chicken Gravy - Classic Chicken
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black peppercorns
(Tellicherry)
Salt to taste
Add 3 tablespoons butter to a large heavy bottom skillet over medium
heat. Add diced onion (optional) and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add Spam and lightly brown. Add 1 cup or more of
cooked rice (my favorite is Jasmine), mixed vegetables, chicken gravy
and freshly ground black peppercorns to skillet.
Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 minutes with lid on the skillet.
Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Add salt if necessary to
taste.
YIELD: 4 servings
This recipe was created to use up left over rice and my
bride named the
recipe. Above recipe done on 05-04-2023 and the second time I have
done this recipe.
