TRAVIS AND TREVOR HUNEYCUTT BIRTHDAY PARTY
Two of our three Lilesville, NC Grandsons,
Travis and
Trevor
Huneycutt had and having birthdays; whereas Travis had his 30th birthday
on May 20, 2023 and Trevor will have his 27th birthday on June 7, 2023.
Time seems to be moving along at an accelerated pace, however time is
constant in speed and duration and keeps kicking away, second by second,
etc. One writer described time and life like a roll of toilet tissue paper;
the closer you get toward the end of the roll, the faster it spins.
God's Holy Word describes time and our life here on earth as a vapor and
compared to eternity, it is true indeed as all of God's Holy Word!
See
James 4:14 KJV Bible
My bride and myself decided to have a small birthday party celebration
for both Travis and Trevor today, even though Trevor's birthday is on
June 7th. We originally planned a
"winy
roast" outside at our fire pit, whereas our grand daughter
Lily Danielle Gonzales describes the outside wiener roasts, however the
weather was not conducive as rain was forecast for the entire day.
The weather prophets aka prognosticators called it right this time and
we had the "winy" roast
inside.
I did use the outside gas antiquated/rebuilt
Jenn Air
grill to do the "dogs"
and venison loin aka
back straps and a couple Vegan burgers
for Travis. With the 3 feet roof overhang on the deck, the grill was
protected from the light drizzling rain and I wore a hat to protect the
ole noggin too!
I did a potato salad a day or so earlier and hot dogs do not take long
to grill at all. I did grill the venison back straps earlier
around 10ish and let them rest in a covered container to retain moisture
and heat.
OUTSIDE GRILL TIME
The above venison loin strap slices aka back strap were soaked in a
salt water and brown sugar brine solution for about 24 hours, rinsed off
real well, hand cubed and a generous application of
Wild Bill's
Meat Rub applied and let set for 30 minutes to an hour to get
to room temperature. Prior to placing on the grill, I dipped each
slice of venison into a bowl that had a mixture of melted Land O Lakes
butter and Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce and grilled for a few
minutes on each side.
The wieners were covered with aluminum foil after grilling.
Travis Huneycutt has been a Vegan for the past few years and grilled
him a couple plant burgers of which he wasn't impressed.
THOSE ATTENDING
Those attending were my bride aka Joyce Porter, Bill aka Mickey
Porter, Laura Porter, Travis & Trevor Huneycutt, Lisa, Xander and Lily
Gonzales.
FOOD PIXS
Lisa Gonzales made Travis a Vegan Apple Pie and it was delicious!
I used a crystal wine cooler for the potato chips since I am a tee
totaler since 2017.
I made a gallon pitcher of sweet tea and forgot to bring out the
lemon pound cake which was store bought. I also doctored up a
couple cans of Van Camps pork n beans with some mustard, Worcestershire
Sauce and brown sugar.
ADDITIONAL PIXS TAKEN
Everyone gathered around the island/work station and I said a prayer
to God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior to bless the food to
the nourishment of our bodies and thankful for our family.
My food plate and it didn't take too long to consume those grilled
"dogs."
Trevor came in about 20 minutes later than the rest, but saved him a
few pieces of grilled venison back straps. When Trevor and his big
brother Travis were young boys, they loved to eat those venison back
straps right off the grill.
I tried a piece of the Vegan Apple Pie topped with vanilla ice cream
and a cherry on top which was "eye candy"
for the camera....grin if you must!.
In closing, we had a great time. Anytime family and friends can
get together, share a meal and time together in a God fearing home, it
doesn't get any better than that! As I post on this website at
every opportunity, "Two of the Greatest
Ships that ever Sailed, Friendship and Fellowship" and we
definitely sailed together today.
PS: After everyone had left, my bride, whereas the
Huneycutt grand boys calls her nanny forgot to give them their birthday
present. They prefer cash and anything with the picture of Grant
on it makes them very happy,,,,,,grin if you must!
LEAVING ON A
SPIRITUAL NOTE
If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please take
this moment to accept him by Faith into your Life, whereby Salvation
will be attained.
