VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2022
The Wadesboro Church of God
had its annual Vacation Bible School August 17th thru 19th with a goal
set to raise a total of 500 dollars to
help rebuild The Church of God Churches and Orphanages in the war zone in Ukraine. In the past, funds
were raised for various charities outside of our county going to state and
other countries, whereas there are definitely plenty of needs everywhere!
THE ARK OF SAFETY
Each evening, Pastor Sam Abee lead us all in prayer and Mrs. Abee led
us with two or three songs that followed the theme of the Vacation Bible School
and this year the theme was THE ARK OF SAFETY based on the Biblical
account of Noah and the flood; Genesis Chapter 6.
Jo Anne Abee, Pastor Sam Abee's wife spear headed the event with the help of our
Youth Ministry and other local Wadesboro Church of God members including
several of the
Abee family.
TEAM CAPTAINS WERE APPOINTED
Brother Dwight Huffman, retired Church of God Minister and his bride Sister Linda
Huffman were appointed Team Captains. The boys were pitted against
the girls as to who could raise the most money. In the past, the
girls have won two times and the boys one, so it was time for the boys
to try and catch up from being behind!

Money collected was counted and the totals will be announced during
our Sunday morning service on 08-21-2022.
PROPS USED
SINGING SONGS
With the help of some audio/visual equipment, Mrs. Abee led us in
several songs, of which follows the theme of Noah's Ark.
MRS. ABEE IN ACTION
Mrs. Abee did a great job in explaining how the ark was built as
directed by God and
asked the audience what several tools were; including a hammer, saw,
nails, etc., of which our only Grand Daughter Lily Danielle Gonzales,
age 5 quickly answered identifying the hammer and the saw. She later
whispered to Wink Myers, "That woman don't
even know what a hammer is" and we certainly chuckled
when Wink later let the cat out of the bag..............grin
if you must

After the program on Friday night, it was time to head to the fellowship hall, of
which Brother Abee blessed our food while in the sanctuary.
ROBERT AND SANDRA WEBSTER - GRILL TIME
Robert Webster of Hamlet, NC volunteered to do the grilling of the hot dogs and hamburgers for
the vacation bible school on Friday, 08-19-2022 and his bride Sandra
helped him.
One thing is for certain; Robert Webster knows his away around a
grill, smoker, whatever type it is. He is a grill master for sure.
Check out this link which details a UDS aka
Ugly Drum Smoker that he
built for me.
SIDE NOTE: After everyone had left
the fellowship hall, it was observed that Robert Webster had left his
cooker/grill and Brother Abee called him, of which Robert was already in
Hamlet, NC and advised him that he had left his cooker/grill.
Robert later called me telling me about the cooker/grill and his bride
Sandra was killing herself laughing in the background. Brother
Abee hooked his trailer hitch to the cooker/grill and transported it
over to the parsonage and parked it in the rear of the parsonage
to prevent a theft.
FELLOWSHIP HALL PIXS TAKEN
The grilled hamburgers, hotdogs and condiments were excellent as was
the fellowship. At every opportunity, I want to post one of my
favorite sayings, "Two of the Greatest
Ships
that ever Sailed, Friendship and Fellowship" and we
definitely sailed with good winds during our Wadesboro Church of God
Vacation Bible School 2022!
Pastor Sam Abee related to me that a nine year old girl accepted
Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior during the Friday Vacation Bible School
and that is what it is all about; being a witness for Jesus Christ,
spreading the Gospel and seeing the fruits of the ministry at work.
Praise to God our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ or Lord and
Savior for his many blessings in this Life and what He has done for us
all; especially Salvation, however we must accept Him!
In closing, we all had a wonderful time and looking forward to the
Sunday morning worship service and the winner of the fund raiser will be announced. So
far the boys are in the lead, but the girls have one more opportunity to
surpass them.

LILY AND XANDER AT HOME
Saturday night 08-20-2022, Lisa asked Lily and Xander if they wanted
her to go to the last part of the Vacation Bible School and Lily
replied, "No, I want to spend time with my
people and not you." ...........grin if you must!
SISTER ABEE FINISHING THE BIBLE ACCOUNT OF NOAH'S
ARK
On Sunday morning, 08-21-2022, Sister Abee gave her final
presentation of Noah's Ark which commenced with a prayer, songs and an
opportunity to contribute money to the boys or the girls bucket.
As stated earlier, money raised would be for a Church of God World
Missions Fund to help the Churches and Orphanages damaged in the war
zone of the Ukraine.

SISTER ABEE ANNOUNCED THE WINNER
The winner was announced, whereas the
boys won this round and the goal was set to raise $
500.00 dollars and the total raised was $ 1100.00 dollars which will
help the
COG Churches and Orphanages in the
Ukraine.
The children were given the opportunity to pick out one of the blow
up animals and Miss Lily picked out a Zebra.
This was a great Vacation Bible School even with very low attendance, but
as stated earlier, the goal set was reached and far exceeded, but the
most important thing was that one young person accepted Jesus Christ as
Lord and Savior.
A special Thank You to
Robert and Sandra Webster of Hamlet, NC for grilling the hamburgers and hotdogs and
those individuals that assisted with the Vacation Bible School!

LEAVING ON A
SPIRITUAL NOTE
