Below is pix of Aunt Mollie Bowers taken on 07-31-15 during a visit with
her. She has a green thumb for flowers like Grandma Coley had. I
enjoyed a wonderful visit with her and viewed oil
paintings that she completed back in the 2000 era and has on display.
I have only a couple pictures of the Bowers of which I plan to scan some
of Mollie Bowers pixs in the very near future. Below is a pix taken at
my Mom's funeral in 2011 of Aunt Mollie and her daughter June:
I remember as a small boy, Aunt Mollie helping me with my school work in
the first grade.
Had to go way back on this one to
1967...the young lady is Iris Bowers, and on the left is Ricky Bowers and
Buddy Bowers from Burnsville, NC. We all fished a near by pond....anything
on the ole fly rod big or little is nothing but fun for sure.

My Sister Susan aka SusieQ brought by one of our Mom and Pop's old photo
albums of which many of the pictures has degraded badly due to the mounting
and of course the age of the pixs. Below are some scans done on
06-28-15:

TERRY AND IRIS TEFF
After a recent visit to Aunt Mollie Bowers, Mother of Iris (Bowers) Teff,
whereas she gave me a small framed picture that Iris Teff had painted on a
dried Dogwood leaf, laminated and mounted under glass. I got up with
Iris and ordered a dozen of them for my bride and we drove to their
beautiful home and my bride picked out the ones she wanted since Iris had a
couple dozen to choose from. Below pix of Terry and Iris:
Iris and Terry are both collectors of Native American artifacts, Civil
War artifacts, metal detecting, some gold panning, whereas Iris does
paintings both large and small but the Dogwood painted leaves are a work of
art for sure. Iris is into Doll collections as well and bee keeping.
Some of Iris's paintings:
Terry is a very serious and dedicated Civil War artifacts collector and
Civil War historian and does lead castings of miniature soldiers from melted
Civil War lead bullets found at various locations and has other collectors
looking for the lead musket balls, etc. for him. Iris does the
painting on them which is outstanding. Terry has also authored a book
titled, North Carolina Civil War Buttons with excellent photography
which is available for purchase. Both have attended various Civil War
Reenactment Battles over the years and visited many of the famous battle
grounds and they also attend the meetings and shows that the Civil War
enthusiasts seek out. Both are artists in their own right!
Before leaving, Terry presented me with an autographed copy of his book,
a miniature lead cast soldier and an original musket ball display.
Below are some pixs of the items mentioned and click on the thumbnail pixs
for a larger screen view:
My bride and myself had a wonderful visit with Terry and Iris and they
certainly do make you feel welcome and at home. I plan to go back with
a couple of my custom turkey box calls and commission Iris to paint some
turkey wildlife scenes on them for the serious box call collectors.
