MOLLIE BOWERS 90TH BIRTHDAY PARTY CELEBRATION
The Calvary Episcopal Church in Wadesboro, NC graciously provided their
facilities for a birthday party for
Mollie Bowers of Burnsville, NC on March 17, 2019, hosted by the Bowers
family, of which I was invited to
attend.
Aunt Mollie Bowers is the last surviving immediate family member of the
Jessie McKnight Coley and "Della" Trexler Coley family. I have much
documented about the Coley and Trexler family in one of my short stories
titled "Memories
From The Past" and time certainly waits for no one. During
the three month or more genealogical research on the Coley family, Aunt
Mollie Bowers provided valuable information to fill in and collaborate
stories I have heard over the decades and the genealogical research records verified
much of those stories related as to a time line and places, etc.GOING BACK IN TIME
I remember as a small boy Aunt Mollie helping me with my school work in the
first grade when she would be down visiting with Grandma Coley. Some
of the things Aunt Mollie related to me over the years about the early years
of my childhood prior to going to school is locked into my
"minds eye" and
our brain will
store those events as if you actually remember them as they were happening.
As is my usual MO aka Modus Operandi,
I got just a little side tracked and now back to Aunt Mollie Bowers birthday
party. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has been very good to Aunt
Mollie over the decades and has brought her through some trying times,
especially health issues. The Lord has a reason and purpose for each
of us being here and Aunt Mollie is an inspiration for us all. It
seems like only yesterday that Aunt Mollie, Ann Porter my Mom and Aunt Sis
aka Elizabeth Ackerman would sing specials at the Wadesboro Church of God
here in Wadesboro using their God given talent to praise God and enrich the
lives of others with their singing and music.
BIRTHDAY PARTY
I arrived at the
Calvary Episcopal Church sometime around 12:30 after our
morning worship service at the
Wadesboro Church of God and the parking lot
and adjacent parking spaces were filled to the brim. I didn't do a
head count, but the fellowship hall was getting crowded for sure.
My trusty antiquated Canon 30D 35MM DSLR camera was in my hand and
immediately started taking pixs.
The first pix I took was of Aunt Mollie Bowers and she is looking great
for 90 years and projected a warm and radiant smile. You can
immediately sense the love and friendship that Aunt Mollie has and her zeal
for life. As I enjoy placing on this website at every opportunity,
"Two of the Greatest Ships that ever Sailed,
Friendship and Fellowship" and there was certainly friendship
and fellowship here at Aunt Mollie Bowers Birthday party celebration.
FAMILY AND FRIEND PIXS TAKEN
Aunt Mollies family was well represented and Charles Ackerman came down
from Maryland to be a part of the celebration and he didn't escape from
my camera lens either. I am not going to attempt to name all the various
family members, because many I can't recall from memory; might be a product
from the date on my birth certificate.....grin if you must. There were
many of Aunt Mollie Bowers church family members there as well.

REFRESHMENTS SERVED
There was a fantastic spread of various food items available and the
decor was awesome as well.
BIRTHDAY GIRL'S CAKE
I didn't stay for the cake cutting due to my bride's illness and am sure
it was awesome.
In closing, I wish Aunt Mollie Bowers many more birthdays to come and
glad to be a part of the Bowers/Coley family. It was great to see
extended family members on such a joyous occasion to celebrate Aunt Mollie
Bowers 90th birthday!
I give God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, the praise, glory
and honor in all things.
