CHRISTMAS 2019With my
bride's health
issues this Christmas season, I only put up our Christmas tree in the
living room that consists of three sections with small multicolored lights
pre-installed. We had our oldest Grandson,
Travis Lee Huneycutt to
decorate the tree under my bride's supervision....grin if you must!
My bride aka Joyce, wanted me to bring up from the basement several large totes
with Christmas decor for the upstairs, but I declined, whereas she did not
need to be doing such at this time.
JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON
With all the commercialization of our CHRISTMAS Holiday and so many
attempting to get on the Political Correctness Band Wagon of not
wishing to offend anyone and to me, they have no backbone and don't stand for
anything that really matters and mere puppets; "Pull my little strings and
I'll do anything." Without Jesus Christ our Lord and
Savior, there would be no Christmas since
Jesus is
the Reason for the Season! Whatever your personal
Faith and Religion are, it is your choice and right; I choose to be a
Christian!
ADCOCK FAMILY CHRISTMAS PARTY
My bride's family had their annual Christmas party this year at
Jonathan's Restaurant in Matthews, NC on
December 7, 2019. The food I ordered was good and everyone seemed to
be pleased with what they had ordered.
I did not take my camera with me and there were plenty of
Obamaphones aka cell phones there
taking pictures, of which many were posted on Facebook aka Fonybook which
was related to me since I do not have a Facebook aka Fonybook account.
This years party activities were coordinated by
Toni and Mike Seals which did a superb job getting various ones to
participate.
Two of the Adcock family members; e.g., Sue Newton
and Kathy Adcock passed away this year and greatly missed!
There were plenty of fun and games for everyone and it was great to see
the Adcock extended family members again.
Jonathan's Restaurant has a large room ideal for
hosting parties which was more than adequate for the Adcock Klan!
At every opportunity, I enjoy posting one of my favorite sayings which
has true meaning to me, "Two of the Greatest
Ships that ever Sailed, Friendship and Fellowship."
LINDA DRIGGERS VISIT
Linda Driggers, retired from the DPS aka Department of Public Safety at
The Brown Creek Correctional Institution, Polkton, NC came by for a visit on
12-12-19 and we had a few finger food snacks.
Jack Driggers, Linda's husband and her came by for an earlier visit, but
didn't get a photo of them which is unusual....my game was off that day for
sure since my trusty ole Canon 30D 35MM DSLR camera is not too far away from
myself.
Below is a pix of Linda taken on 12-12-19:
We swapped some Christmas gifts and I told Linda that one of her gifts
that I ordered from her home state of California had not arrived yet.
She is planning another visit on December 26, 2019 if I am not mistaken and
my shipment arrived from California via UPS about 30 minutes after she left
on the 12th.
I plan to spray a clear coat sealer and/or lacquer on the cross to
protect it.
Linda gave me the above hand crafted cross which is a very unique gift
made from a cedar tree and limb from Israel. The writing and images
appears to be done with a laser.
Linda and Jack have done some serious retirement traveling and great they
can do so. Linda shares photos of their travel exploits and she is
getting pretty good at picture composition with her
Obamaphone aka
IPhone.......grin if you must!
As always, Linda and Jack are a lot of fun and those California girls do
have their own way with words!

CHRISTMAS EVE FINGER FOOD PARTY
The last decade or more, my bride and myself have scaled down and
eliminated most of our outside yard seasonal parties due to my bride's health issues, of
which she has been the driving force behind those parties.
With that said, we rarely do a large full blown evening meal on Christmas
Eve, instead we do a Reader's Digest version with mostly finger foods which
is still plenty of food for our small crowd.
Those attending the finger food party were: Joyce aka my bride,
Laura, Travis, Trevor, Shane Hough and Bill aka Mickey Porter. Lisa,
Xander and Lily were not able to attend due to Lily having the pink eye and
had to wait 24 hours before making contact with others.
Below pixs taken of the food items:
Our finger food menu consisted of: Home made pulled pork BBQ
sandwiches, marinated slaw, rolls, chicken wings, shrimp with cocktail
sauce, black bean dip, hot sausage dip, sausage balls and scoops.
These recipes are located at this
link.
For desert, we had home made pound cake topped with vanilla ice cream,
home made strawberry sauce and whipped cream.
PRAYER
We gathered around the work island in the kitchen, joined hands and a
prayer was prayed to God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior to bless
the food to the nourishment of our bodies and our bodies for His service,
thank Him for another Christmas eve celebration and thank Him for His Son
Jesus Christ who shed his blood on the cross for the remission of our sins.
JOHN 3:16 KJV
PIXS AFTER THE MEAL
I put the camera aside and served myself up a Styrofoam plate of the
finger food. The home made
pulled pork BBQ I smoked back in October
was earlier thawed out and heated up and made a fresh batch of my
BBQ
sauce. The finger food was excellent!
GIFT EXCHANGE
CHRISTMAS DAY
Lisa, Xander and Lily arrived around 11ish on Christmas Day to open
presents of which those pixs are included in the ones above. The pink
eye that Lily had didn't seem to slow her down any and she was non stop.
Xander got a Chrome notebook and we set it up using our WiFi and he
certainly did enjoy playing games with it.
Laura left some of the shrimp and I mixed up a
cocktail sauce. Miss
Lily wanted to help and I let her stir the mixture and do some tasting.
She was thrilled to do so as evidenced by the pix below. She is
standing on a foot stool and it was the proper height for her.......grin if
you must! Both Xander and Lily are south paws.....another grin is in
order!
In closing, we had a wonderful time both on Christmas Eve and Christmas
Day with the immediate family. As annotated above, my bride and myself
attended the Adcock Family Christmas Party on December 7, 2019 and it was
great to see the Adcock extended family members. As I state so may
times on this website, "Two of the Greatest
Ships that ever sailed, Friendship and Fellowship" and we did
our share of sailing for sure.
LINDA DRIGGERS VISIT
Linda Driggers came by for a visit today being December 26, 2019 and I
gave her the box of chocolate candy from
Sees, of which is some awesome
candy!
Linda brought by three mini loaves of banana nut bread she had baked and
my bride and myself demolished one of the loaves which was outstanding.
The banana nut bread was loaded with chopped walnuts!
Linda is a barrel of fun and she showed us some of the recent pixs she
had taken with her Obamaphone aka cell phone while they were on vacation.
