GRANDDAUGHTER
Our only granddaughter, Lily Danielle Gonzales made her début on March 6,
2017 at 8:46 P.M. at the Stanly Memorial Medical Center, Albemarle, NC, the
daughter of Lisa and Steve Gonzales of Lilesville, NC. She weighed 9
lbs. 1 oz. and 21 inches in length.
Above pix of my bride aka Joyce holding Miss Lily Danielle Gonzales when we visited with them the following morning at the Bivens Outpatient
Center which is part of the large Stanly Memorial Medical Center Complex.
Lisa being our youngest daughter, waited late in life to have her son
Xander
McKnight Gonzales who will be eight (8) years old the 21st of this month.
Lisa is forty-four (44) years young and did not think she would have another
child due to various medical issues incurred over the years, but no one
earthly can
predict the future.
We have five (5) Grandsons starting with the eldest; Travis Lee Huneycutt,
William McKnight Porter III, Trevor Lane Huneycutt, Samuel Jacob Porter and
Xander McKnight Gonzales. My bride and myself were hoping for a
Granddaughter and this certainly was a welcome shock and surprise since it
looked like a Granddaughter was out of the question for the Porter family!
Lisa being forty-four years old with medical issues, this pregnancy was
considered a high risk and Anson County, NC doesn't offer the medical
services and expertise required, therefore she was referred to Dr. John
Shen, Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OBGYN) in Albemarle. Dr. John
Shen's Office is located at the
Albemarle Women's Clinic at 815 N Third St.,
Albemarle, NC 28001, Telephone 704-550-5260.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO SUE NEWTON
My brides sister, Sue Newton also from Lilesville, NC, from the very
start of Lisa's pregnancy, has helped Lisa out tremendously donating her
time and resources getting her to her medical appointments in Albemarle, NC and coordinating an
Adcock family baby shower along with other
things.
Sue Newton is a person of
action, gets things done, doesn't like
procrastination of any kind and a stickler for details. Those
personality and character traits are a big factor in her many successes over
the years. She doesn't just do things for recognition, but it is very
hard not to notice someone who goes above and beyond what most of us do.
Sue is a natural leader and doesn't sit on the side lines
and certainly does "take the bull by the horns" which
I have stated before.
Below is a pix of Sue taken on Tuesday 03-07-17 at around 12:37 P. M. if
the time stamp is correct on the little pocket digital Olympus Stylus 400
camera, of which I caught her off guard. Sue had been well up before 4
A.M. on Monday morning 03-06-17, whereas she picked Lisa up around 0410
hours; 4:10 A.M. to you non-military folks getting Lisa to the hospital.
Dr. Shen was going to start the process to induce labor sometime around
0530 if memory is correct.
It was wonderful to see my bride holding and cuddling baby Lily since she
wanted a Granddaughter for many decades and Wa-lah, which is actually Voila,
a French word meaning "Look here." The French do not pronounce the
letter V as clearly as English speaking folks do....Ok, the English/French lesson
is over. Baby Lily is a "baby doll" for sure and I got a chance
to do some bonding as well!
My bride soaking up little Miss Lily.
Lisa has a good grin going holding baby Lily also.
PIXS FOR THE WEB
During our visitation with Lisa and baby Lily, I captured a few pixs of
the staff that came into the room doing their various duties and asked them
if they would not mind being on the World Wide Web on my personal website.
Most were very agreeable, however I think one of the RNs thought I was some
kind of a freak or something because it was very evident that she was
spooked at the idea and/or camera shy....grin if you must! Lisa
assured her that it was all for a good cause, since I web publish my short
stories on this website, of which Lisa pulled up my website on her laptop
and I showed her some of my stuff.
Above pix of Gail Woody, RN smiling for the camera.
I also got a chance to meet Dr. John Shen, Lisa's OBGYN who
dropped by a couple times.
Lisa and Baby Lily has a follow up visit in a couple days at the
Albemarle Pediatrics.
I went "brain dead" and forget
to get the names of the above staff members; I believe both are
Pediatricians. Lisa informed me the Dr. on the left is Dr. Du.
I got to talk with Margaret Lindsey of House Keeping who kept the rooms
in tip top shape for cleanness and a pleasure to meet and talk with!
RN Ms. Coble with a good grin going too!
Another pix of my bride aka Joyce with baby Lily. Little booties
were placed on Lily's hands to keep her from scratching herself with those
tiny little fingernails.
Sue Newton took pixs and a video clip or two of Baby Lily and will add
pixs when I receive them from her. I believe she posted a pix of Lily
on Facebook as well. I observed Sue giving baby Lily some tender love
and care while I was there of which the little ones will certainly melt your
heart and soul!

LEAVING ON A
SPIRITUAL NOTE
If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please take
this moment to accept him by Faith into your Life, whereby Salvation

works, lest any man should boast.

the evidence of things not seen.”

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and
sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder
of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of
the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory

In closing, I am happy that the birth of Lily Danielle Gonzales went
without any glitches and both Mother and Daughter are doing well, of which many
prayers were certainly answered for their well being.

these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
