JOYCE PORTER DEN MOTHER & DEN LEADER PACK 25
While going through back-up CDs and DVDs during the week of October 10 thru
16th of pixs taken over the years, of
which I later digitized some of the slides taken back in the mid 1970s, I
have been uploading some of them to this website that was created in 2007.
My bride aka Joyce was very active in the Boy Scouts of America as a Den
Mother and later as a Den Leader when our son Bill, Jr., joined the BSA.
Those that know my bride personally, will tell you that she doesn't do anything halfway;
she gives it her best and being very artistic and innovative, it sets the
standards very high for some of the rest of us.........grin if you must!
Below are some pixs taken at the Wadesboro Little Park in July 1977 of
one of the Cub Scouts Day Camp outings:
Getting a lesson in Native American culture.
There were plenty of hot dogs and refreshments available to all that
attended.
Our son Bill, Jr. on the left in the pix above.
Native American dance?
Our son Bill, Jr., front and center below with some type of plaque.
Below pix of my bride on the right. That was polyester days for
sure; look to the left and background!
My bride with a good grin going and some type of award.
ROCKETS IN THE AIR
Several rockets were sent skyward and everyone had a good time seeing
them go nearly out of sight!
POOL TIME
That was a job to keep up with all those guys and gals in the pool!
I kept over sixty (60) 35mm slides taken during the week long event and the above
pixs will give a brief view of what went on. There were all kinds of
crafts and plenty of food donated by various organizations and many
volunteers helped out during the week long event. I am sure those
young folks attending, still remember the great time they experienced.
PACK 25 ON PARADE
The following are pixs taken of the table decorations my bride and myself
made for the banquet that was held at the Anson Senior High School
Cafeteria. My bride did all the painting and art work and I did the
woodworking; cutting out the cub scout figures and constructing the
wagon/cages. BTW, my bride's table won first place! The
display was later donated to the BSA main office in Albemarle, NC where it was
on display. We spent many, many hours on that project;
"anything worth doing, is worth doing right."
Above, I cloned out a framed picture and ceramic figure in the background
using PhotoShop CS2.
AWARD CEREMONY
HALLOWEEN PARTY
Don't have any particulars on the above pix, other than it must have been
a Halloween party. My bride said that was our son Bill, Jr. with a
costume on.
MY BRIDE IN HER DEN MOTHER UNIFORM
That is one beautiful woman; got a few extra heart beats just from
posting these pixs! We are both senior citizens now, but she is still
just as beautiful as ever in my eyes. Love has a way of doing that!
I have posted a few of the above pixs at various place on this website and
decided to put what I have in one short story. Those pixs were taken
in 1976 and 1977 and time is really getting gone. I am thankful that
we have memories from the past and pictures
taken to document the events.

Proverbs 31: 26-31
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue [is] the law of
kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread
of idleness.
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he
praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] feareth
the LORD, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in
the gates.
LEAVING ON A
SPIRITUAL NOTE
If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please take
this moment to accept him by Faith into your Life, whereby Salvation

works, lest any man should boast.

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and
sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder
of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of
the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory
of God;”
