PIZZA PARTY
Our son, William McKnight Porter, Jr. of Vista, California advised us,
he would be coming in for a weekend visit on May 3, whereas my bride aka
Joyce and myself were extremely exited. We last visited Bill and
Nichol back in
2018 and haven't been able to visit
them since due to my bride's health issues.
Prior to arriving at our home, Bill got some time in hiking up Mt.
Mitchell, NC earlier in the week doing his Amateur Radio contacts via
Morse Code.
Bill arrived sometime around 9:01 AM per our security cameras on May 3,
2024 and we later went out for some Bo Jangles biscuits and stopped off
at the Coffee Shop on West Morgan Street here in Wadesboro, NC uptown to
get a few Lattes to go.
I wanted to do a few of Bill's favorite meals; e.g.,
Venison Cubed Steak n
Gravy, Pulled Pork
BBQ, etc. and Bill certainly did enjoyed the venison steak n
gravy. I took very few pixs, my bad, but did get a few pixs in on
our Sunday lunch May 6, 2024 which was Pizza Hut pizza. We had some left over
Mickey's Baked
Beans, and
potato salad to go with the pizza. I made a Vegan
Mushroom stew for our oldest grandson Travis Lee Huneycutt on Saturday
and kept it in our basement refrigerator and heated it up on Sunday, of
which I believe is his favorite Vegan meal.
PARTY TIME
Our immediate family was invited, but our oldest daughter
Laura Porter
was a no show for whatever reason. Those attending were as
follows: My bride aka Joyce Porter, yours truly Bill aka Mickey
Porter, Bill, Jr., Lisa, Xander and Lily Gonzales, Travis and
Trevor Huneycutt.

Our only Granddaughter Miss
Lily Danielle Gonzales who turned seven
(7) back in March and hard to believe time is going by so fast, or it
seems anyway, even though, I know time is constant in duration.

inches in height, "big boy"
for sure!

I believe Miss Lily consumed a couple large pieces of pepperoni
pizza.

In closing, we enjoyed our pizza, baked beans and potato salad and
the fellowship shared. Family is what makes life wonderful and
especially if you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and
are born again!

"Friendship and Fellowship" and we sure sailed today!
BILL DEPARTS FOR BREVARD, NC
Bill left our home sometime after 3:30 PM on May 6, 2024 heading to
Brevard, NC where he will spend the night and do some mountain bike
riding the next mid-morning, of which he had a bike reserved for him for
May 7, 2024. I talked with Bill this afternoon and he is spending
another night there in Brevard. He got a couple mountain bike
trail rides in today and will send me the details and pixs taken later
and I will add them to this page. He plans to spend another night
there in Brevard, NC and will head out to Charlotte, NC on May 8,
2024 which is a three (3) our drive from Brevard. Bill's flight departs
from Charlotte Douglas International Airport around
6:30 PM which is a direct flight into San Diego and he has plenty of
time to get to get checked in.

his passion for sure!

UPDATE FROM BILL
What a day, what a day! There has been
rain here over the last few days but sunny skies today. The result
-- Hero Dirt Galore! I did a sizable tour of the goods at DuPont
State Recreational Area. After that I had a little bit of juice
left in the legs and plenty of time before needing to get the rental
back so I took in a wafer thin slice of Pisgah National Forest. I
got everything out of the legs on the climb up Trift Cove forest road
and was rewarded with an really cool techish descent down the
lower section of the Black Mountain Trail. Nothing but smiles and
sore legs at the bottom. Earth Mountain Bicycles (where I rented
the bike) conveniently also has a bar at the front of the store which
was a perfect finishing of the MTB outing day!
