THANKSGIVING 2003The past week, I have
been uploading archived pixs taken before 2007 when this website was
created. I found a few pixs of our Thanksgiving meal in 2003 and I am
sure there probably were more taken and will post them when I run across
them going through the many CDs and DVDs I have used to back up my pixs
files.
GETTING THE TURKEYS DEEP FRIED
It is my job to get the turkeys deep fried and I started off deep frying
them on the deck and later placed a 55 gallon steel drum lit under the
propane cooker for safety purposes. However, later I moved the turkey
cooker under the carport with the cement floor for additional fire
protection. One of the first things I did when getting a turkey pot
and cooker was fabricate a longer rod with an S hook on it to use to lower
the turkey into the boiling oil. The ones that came with the turkey
pots were about the size of a coat hanger and was definitely a burn accident
waiting to happen.
It looks like I am deep frying two turkeys and getting them ready to
apply a very generous coat of Morton table salt and Cayenne pepper. I
rub and message both ingredients into the pores of the skin instead of just
sprinkling on the outside of the ole bird.
The above turkey is ready to go into the hot oil for about one hour and
that depending on the weight of the turkey.
The first turkey is ready to go into the hot oil.
Man, what a "beautimous"
looking golden brown deep fried turkey, ready to cool down before carving
and placing on one of my bride's favorite turkey platters.
It want be long before this ole boy will be on the serving platter and
headed for the kitchen serving island.
SERVING ISLAND WITH EVERYTHING READY TO GO
If the above two pix doesn't get your taste buds into overdrive, you need
to visit your family Doctor for some serious treatment.......grin if you
must! Once in a blue moon, we will provide different meats other than
deep fried turkey
and
baked ham for the Holidays, but that is a
rarity; "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
I will occasionally do a couple Boston butts for some
outstanding pulled
pork and BBQ
along with my signature
baked beans,
slaw and
hush puppies.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS
If I didn't take any more pixs that the above that I located, I was a
little slack on the job. Those attending were: Mom and Pop aka
Bill and Ann Porter, Rachel and Wink Myers, Clara Lowry, Lisa and David
Netting, Bett, Frankie, Chance and Dillon Cranford, Joyce and Mickey Porter,
hosts.
We always have a fantastic time with family and friends sharing a good
meal together and making memories that last a lifetime.
As I say so many times, "Two of the Greatest
Ships that ever Sailed, Friendship and Fellowship."
Family and Friends do make Life so worthwhile.

LEAVING ON A
SPIRITUAL NOTE
If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please take
this moment to accept him by Faith into your Life, whereby Salvation
will be attained.

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and
sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder
of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of
the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

1 John 4:1-4
1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try
the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone
out into the world.
2Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every
spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3And every spirit that confesseth not that
Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit
of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now
already is it in the world.
4Ye are of God,
little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in
you, than he that is in the world.
5They are of the world: therefore speak they
of the world, and the world heareth them.
6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth
us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of
truth, and the spirit of error.
7Beloved, let us love one another: for love
is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
